With the start of the non-league season just a few weekends away i thought i’d put together a list of a few players to look out for this season. The majority of the list below are midfielder/attackers, but if you know of any defenders and goalkeepers people should look out for let me know.
James Ewington
A striker i’ve mentioned time and time before on this blog and on twitter.. In the last 2 season’s he has hit over 50 goals in each at Step 3/4/5 for a variety of clubs. He has signed for Hampton and Richmond this year . Will be interesting to see if he can continue his goalscoring record at Step 2 this year.
Karol Wengrzik
Currently with Dereham Town, this former Norwich City youngster is currently performing well in non league football and is only 18 years old. I have no doubt that in the coming season he will not only step up his performances for Dereham but also earn a move either higher up in non league football or earn a move back into the professional game. Karol is a very quick winger, who performs well during 1 on 1’s with defenders.
Seb Drozd
Now here is a player who is a bit more local to myself. Seb played last season with Hemel and Uxbridge’s Under 18 squads and has some impressive stats to match clocking up 18 goals at youth level last season. I’m hoping that Uxbridge or if not another local club gives this lad a chance at senior level to show what he can do as he is an impressive attacking player.
James Richardson
One of the youngest players on the list is Ascot United’s left-sided midfielder James Richardson who has so far made 15 first team appearances for Ascot United. At only 18 years old, James is a player for the future and i think would be worth signing at a step 3/4
Temi Babilola
Another striker on the list here with Temi Babilola who at only 18 years old has hit 20 goals in the 2018-2019 season for Woodford Town in the Essex Senior league. A bit of a rough diamond, Temi has already had several trials with football league clubs in the past few months. For such a young player Temi has the height and strength to go far in the game, could we see him player higher this season?
Joel Nouble
Next up is Joel Nouble, who was snapped up by Concord Rangers after impressing at Haringey Borough last season scoring 16 goals. The striker has impressed after being released as a youngest by Dagenham and like Temi Babilola has the height and strength to terrify defences. At 23, Joel is of the right age to possibly make the move up to Step 1 and see if can make his way back to the football league.
Max Oldham
Next up is Max Oldham, a winger who can play as a winger on both sides or up-front. Max Played in the USA for a number of years earning a call-up to the US development side in 2010. Max counts Lewes and Grays Athletic as previous clubs and is currently playing for Corinthian Casuals at Step 3.
